Italian Homemade Pasta Recipe

A Delicious recipe for homemade pasta with a tomato sauce.


2 cups wheat flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
3 eggs
water as needed

1lb lean ground beef
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 small onion, chopped
1 celery stalk, diced
1 sweet green pepper, diced
3/4 tsp salt
3/4 tsp dried basil
1/4 cup tomato paste
1 can (28 oz) diced tomatoes
Fresh Basil for garnish


Comine pasta ingredients. kneed into a smooth dough. cut into quarters, run through pasta machine or roll very thin and cut by hand. Once noodles are desired shape. place in a large pot of boiling water. Cook noodles 8 minutes stiring often.

In a large saucepan, heat oil over medium heat; brown ground beef, onion, celery, green pepper, salt, and basil. stirring occasionally, until softened, about 8 minutes

Add tomato paste and tomatoes; bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, until thick enough to mound on spoon, about 30 minutes

Serve garnished with fresh basil.
