This meatballs recipe is a tasty basic recipe for meatballs. We have added a tomato sauce to them here, but you can use with a variety of sauces or gravy.
2 pounds lean ground beef
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
2 teaspoons parsley flakes
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 Tablespoons olive oil
1 can stewing tomatoes
1 can tomato paste
Grind the hard, stale bread in a blender to make crumbs.
In a mixing bowl, mix the meat with the eggs, then bread. Add the seasonings. You can adjust the seasoning amounts to taste.
Gently work the meat mixture together with your hands until well combined.
Roll meatballs into 1 1/2 inch balls.
Heat the oil in a large skillet using medium heat and add the meatballs.
Fry meatballs, rolling frequently, until evenly browned, and cooked all the way through so there is not pink showing.
Stir in the canned stewed tomatoes and the tomato paste.
