Nutty Crumble Top Donuts Recipe

An easy recipe for delicious nutty crumble topped baked donuts.
1/2 cup pecans, finely chopped
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 tseaspoon ground cinnamon
3 Tablespoons butter, melted
1 3/4 cups self raising flour
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 cup confectioners sugar
2-3 Tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. grease a donut pan.
Combine the pecans, brown sugar, cinnamon and butter in a shallow wide bowl and stir to make the pecan crumble.
In a large mixing bowl, Combine flour, sugar. Gently fold in the egg, butter and buttermilk.
Carefully spoon into a large piping bag fitted with a large plain nozzle.
Pipe the batter into each doughnut mould until ⅔ full. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes or until cooked when tested.
Place the confectioners sugar into a small mixing bowl, add the lemon juice and mix until smooth.
Once cooked remove the doughnuts from the oven and allow to cool for a 5 minutes before turning out.
